Circa 1770; Original antique print is from the 1770″s and the hand coloring is current; Charles-Joseph Panckoucke (1736 – 1798) a French writer and publisher noted for his work on the Encyclopédie Méthodique; shortly before the French Revolution, Panckouke also began publishing the magazine Mercure de France, and established the Moniteur Universel in November 1789; presented in ornate silver wood frame with linen mat and UV glass to protect against the sunlight
